The Twitter Experience
Maintained by pjfbncyl.....l......
Yet another update. I discovered Wink, a
presentation / tutorial package. Then I went mad and told the world
: I have learned how to from Twitter. It resulted in my account with
NewsVine being suspended for advertising myself ! Ho hum. My
intentions were honourable. You can see what the fuss was about by
clicking here
The Twitter API (Advanced Programming Interface)
is so easy to access that applications are born overnight. It can be
accessed in real time and display the results of its call. Twittercounter.com is a perfect example. Your stats are instantly
displayed, plus ranking and predictions. On the front page you saw
my geek chart. It uses the Twitter API plus that of the most popular
sites in the world, in the world! With a cumulative total in excess
of 50 million users. There are 2 billion photographs on Flickr. My
chart shows my activity and links with a click to those sites.
LINKS! From this poor little website from The Bog you have global
links. Just a click away.
TWOLLARS ~ We now have our own currency. It is called the currency
of appreciation and can be exchanged for $$$ by charities. Everybody
on Twitter was given 50 to start them off. I blogged about it,
bookmarked it, told Stumbleupon and Digg then emailed it to the
media in Ireland, UK, USA (both coasts), France, Germany, India,
Japan, Canada and told Reuters and Associated Press for good
measure. How? I am registered with them all. They accept my
submissions. Now whether or not they pick it up is a different
story. But it was breaking news and I beat The Guardian by about ten
hours. I am viral. I continued by sending 1 Twollars to the most
powerful man in the world @barackobama. I sent 3 Twollars to one of
the richest women in the world known for her charitable works @oprah.
I gave 10 Twollars to @richardbranson, Who am I? Nobody special. I
just know a good thing when I see it. Then I tell everyone about it.
1 Twollars @twitter.

Phew this experience does not stand still! Every
remarkable update to this site ~ Prezi ~DJ all are due to being told
by twitter that its there and then acting on it. I have had 2 mini
campaigns Comedy Roots 101 & 102 and received good feedback. The
research had me in stitches and re-visited what we owe to British
Comedy. The Goon Show, That Was The Week That Was are both
precursors to the legendary Monty Python that changed the face of
comedy globally. I grew up with all this. When I am researching a
topic, taking a couple of hours, I store the potential tweets in
notepad / order them / then publish. If I have a "great idea" during
the day I save it in notepad and revue it before publishing ( to see
how great it was) Like this:..age, like wine, gets better with wine
:) and from Frank Zappa " The mind, like a parachute, only works
when open" I have two great friends of mention @Enoxh from Las Vegas
and @pripper in New York. They are great guys. Got totally behind
#charitytuesday as well where everybody promotes charities they know
of, run themselves or need donations. They are global and this week
started in the UK with the subject of bullying. BTW the TV is dead.
I have a radio station blip.fm and I am on it blip.fm/pjfbncyl

Ok, I am a twitterholic Is there a support group I
can join? I update my web, Firefox plugins or plug-ins, test them.
If i like them, I keep them. I started with bit.ly (URL shortener). it has a very useful button on my
browser toolbar. Then I found I could track tweets with it and get
the full URL in a little popup on the page. bit.ly is used by a hell
of a lot of people. And a hell of a lot of people I respect. It also
logs all my uses of it when you set up an account so great for
tracking, I can also use it to retweet something I think is
important. If it is: the good old copy and paste and its back
up there in my tweets. Realtime example: Welcome to NCYL
http://bit.ly/du7VO Great, 5
stars. Second there is techcrunch, @techcrunch gives me a small
keyword popup with relevant comments by them, totally up to date.
Every time I find Google Facebook Twitter SEO
Microsoft Internet Marketing etc I get the latest news about them,
find their roots if I want to and follow the comments if I find them
interesting, newsworthy or just plain amusing I have my own keywords
of course, pjfbncyl being unique. But you need to find out what real
:) keywords are being used and then use them. Sorry have to go. I am
a very active person LOL.

Still relatively new to twitter,
but I find it an absolute wonderful resource and so much fun! I
devote at least an hour a day twittering (using TweetDeck) and about
an hour a day to updating my resources. Twitter is an incredible
tool (API), has fantastic applications like twollow.com, for
automation (I don't use auto DM - not a good practice it seems to
me) and my favourite at the moment is geofollow.com, puts you on the
Internet map and has the most wonderful animated cloud I have
ever seen. Twittervision.com (Google) is fun too you can see world
tweets - it's about an hour behind but
you can login with your twitter account to personalise it. I do like
twittearth.com, it is graphically awesome. You are in space and view
a spinning Earth with tweets. Is there no end to twitter apps? Not a
twiiterholic nor a compulsive follower, I edit my followers once a
week to remain pure ;). This maximises my twitter experience. Highly
recommended @mashable - so good I have an RSS feed to him. Enjoy!
If you want to track me, type pjfbncyl
into Google.

Yea! Twitter is so much fun and a force to be reckoned with. I
have two accounts, a public and personal. You will need a separate
email account for each. New to all this? Then
getting started. Don't worry all the resources are free.
I am
still learning and growing. I will become better with practice and
watching others. But it's easy to contribute. I use TweetDeck, the
web and HummingBird so I have some powerful applications at my
fingertips. I do try and make my tweets count and its great to get a
RT especially by someone who has quite a following. But I'm not
frightened of experimenting, sometimes I get it wrong but it's not
the end of the world - usually the next tweet will make up for it. I
find everyone very nice. As you can see I have a twitter feed on my
site and I've also got one on my blog - keeps all the sites fresh
automatically. I twitter for a couple of hours a day, usually in the
evenings but if a tweet catches my interest I follow the web link.
Thank god I can speed read, you will learn with practice. I find it
so much more entertaining than TV. One tip I've learned is to leave
twitter with a good tweet, new followers can see it so make it
attractive - haha
" You're only as good as your last tweet" Yeah but be gentle with
yourself, don't beat yourself up, start each new day as a new
beginning, smile, laugh, grow - its good for the soul. Be happy
